What is Meditation?

Meditation is a powerful tool for transformation, and even small amounts can make a positive difference. Ranging from relaxation, improved health and well-being, increased energy levels to greater perspective, clearer thinking, deeper insights and expanded awareness, the benefits of meditation are endless and well documented.

ImagineMeditation is a tool to help you become more aware of yourself and your surroundings, giving you the ability to relax at will, to be still and centred in the midst of busyness and confusion - to think less (round in circles) and to know more.

By becoming still and placing your attention on one thing - simply one thing - you allow yourself to unclutter from anything that may be clouding your perception, enabling you to access that part of you that always knows exactly what to do, or not to do, in any moment.

So, as you begin to exercise control over where you place your attention, rather than reacting to whatever thoughts and feelings are happening to you, you become more empowered to create the reality you choose for you.

And the more focussed and present you are, the more energy and time you find you have for those important things.

There is a myth that meditation can be difficult, that if your concentration wanders from your point of focus, then maybe it won't work.

However, every time you notice that your mind has drifted, you become more conscious of where you are, more conscious of the circles your thoughts can take you in, and more aware of what you're telling yourself and if this is helpful.

Every time you bring your attention back to your point of focus, you strengthen your ability to decide where you place your energy, and you strengthen your ability to free yourself from those ceaseless circles, by being fully present in the space supporting them.

There is evidence to suggest that the potential within all of us to be more than we can imagine has not begun to be tapped into, and what is in the way of us exploring this, are our own concepts of what is possible.

Have you ever noticed, how when you step back from a situation and look at what is happening from a higher perspective, everything becomes clearer and more obvious.

Instead of being aware of only a small part of the picture, you can see the whole.

And what doesn't make sense, can all become clear when you become aware of things you hadn't known before.

Each day is an opportunity to increase our perception and awareness and empower ourselves to be more of who we are and all we can be - an opportunity to access the inner resources within each of us to deal with any situation we find ourselves in.

We may not always be able to control what is happening in our environment, but we can influence how we respond to it - developing our ability to appreciate our connection with the Earth and the stars and be open to the magic that gives rise to these.
